1964: The Tribute

1964 recreates an early ‘60s live Beatles concert with period instruments, clothing, hairstyles, and on-stage banter with an accuracy that is unmatched, earning the four-man group the distinction of being called the “best Beatles’ tribute on Earth” from Rolling Stone magazine.

2 The Long Island Home Show

Saturday, March 30, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, March 31, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Home Show brings together homeowners with local and national companies for two full days of ideas, resources and expert advice. At this free event, visitors can talk to home improvement professionals, interact directly with brand name manufacturers and retailers, and explore exhibits of kitchens, baths, solar installations and more.

3 Don Quixote — Russian National Ballet

In his library, the old nobleman Don Quixote sits over his books, which tell him of distant times of knighthood.  Soon he believes himself called to knightly deeds and sails forth into the world to seek adventures.  The story goes on a comical quest for love, honor, and dignity brought to life by the Russian National Ballet.

HMTC Film Screening: ‘Defining Moments’

Sunday, March 31, 1 to 3:30 p.m.

The documentary, “Defining Moments: The Civil Rights Movement in North Hempstead,” highlights the true stories of confrontation and courage throughout the Civil Rights Movement in North Hempstead, which was an epicenter of change during this tumultuous time. Attending the screening will be guest speakers including Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Town Councilwoman Lee Seeman, and the film’s director, Alan Ginsburg.

5 The Platters with special guest Bradd Marquis

7 GCAC Film Screening: ‘Wild Prairie Rose’

Set in the 1950s, this film tells the story of a woman named Rose who must return home to care for her ailing mother.  Back home, she befriends a deaf man, who teaches her the many ways to communicate. In coming home, Rose discovers herself, finds love, and learns to appreciate the life she left behind.
