Dickens Festival

Port Jefferson’s 24th annual Dickens Festival begins next Saturday. The streets of the village will be filled with popular characters from the works of celebrated writer Charles Dickens. Characters people may run into include Father Christmas, Dickens Mayor, Scrooge, the Town Crier and chimney sweeps.

A Holiday Evening with Loss4Words and Friends

The End of America

Back by popular demand, “The End of America” will be performing at the Long Island Museum. The group’s musical stylings is a blend of three-part harmony, rock and Americana. The band was voted “Most Wanted” artist during the 2017 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. Advanced tickets are on sale for $20 until Dec. 6. After that, tickets can be purchased prior to the show for $25.

Ceramic Vintage Christmas Tree Trucks
Monday, Dec. 9, 6:30 p.m.
Hammer and Stain Long Island will be having a special workshop in honor of the holiday season. Participants can paint their own ceramic Christmas tree truck and/or Christmas tree. There won’t be any kiln firing required for this project, and attendees could take their items home with them that night. Each tree will come with a multi-colored light kit, though there will also be clear light kits available for $8. Participants can also use “snow” to add as a decoration. The workshop is only for those 21 years of age or older. Registry for the event ends on Monday, Dec. 2, at 5:00 p.m.

The Cult- A Sonic Temple

Hard rock group “Cult” will be performing songs from their ten studio albums at the Paramount. The group’s performance at Coachella 2014 earned immense praise from critics, who hailed them as incendiary, ground-breaking and transcendent. Ticket prices for the event range from $30 to $99.50.

The Front Bottoms-Road to the Jam
Thursday, Dec. 12, 7:30 p.m.
The rock group “Front Bottoms” is coming to the Revolution Bar and Music Hall to perform. Their music is a combination of folk, punk, emo, post-hardcore, alternative rock and indie. In addition to six studio albums, the band also has eight EPs to their name. General admission to the event is $30 per person. Attendees must be 16 or older to gain entry.
