It is incredible how much Angela Lawlor Mullins has achieved during her 12 years as police commissioner for the Port Washington Police Department.
She understands how to work with the police department, not against it. Angela has the respect of the entire police force and the community because of her devotion to community-focused policing and support for the entire police force.
Commissioner Mullins is also very tenacious about saving tax dollars. She focused on adjusting the department salary structure and civilian duties, which has saved taxpayers over $100,000 a year, not to mention keeping budget increases to about 2% each year over the past five years.
She insists that officers and supervisors be optimally trained, which has resulted in the highest level of professionalism and service to the community. Commissioner Mullins also organizes meetings with the community on scams, identity theft, etc, as well as to gain feedback on satisfaction and concerns.
The fact that Angela was a New York Police Department detective gives her a big leg up with regard to understanding how a police department is run, including all the little nuances one only knows from working within a department.
In a nutshell, Police Commissioner Angela Lawlor Mullins has the experience, professionalism, tenacity and dedication the Port Washington community needs and deserves. I hope you’ll join me on December 14 and cast your vote to re-elect Commissioner Mullins. Polls are open from 12:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Polish Hall.
