Manhasset’s own historic Onderdonk House, freshly updated and decorated for the holiday season, invites the community to a Holiday & History Celebration.
The event is taking place on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., where the street will be closed so that guests can visit the House and surrounding greens.
A variety of activities will take place that includes a rolling video presentation of the Onderdonk family history, seasonal choral interludes from guest vocalists and pianists, a child-centered activity that includes making an historical-based ornament along with a photo op with the jolly old elf himself, and the opportunity to drop off letters to Santa.
Food will be featured too – don’t miss the chance to enjoy lunch or savor a seasonal snack at the visiting food truck, the incredible Food Truck Refinery. Chef-owned and known for serving “Casual Fare with Refined Flavor” throughout the tri-state area, attendees will be able to purchase sensational sandwiches, Brisket Barbacoa tacos, lobster bisque and other seasonal snacks and hot beverages.
Outdoor seating will be available or take it to go, knowing that 10% of all food purchases will benefit the Onderdonk House.
Also offered, a “12 Days of Christmas Raffle,” offering an array of holiday and children-themed baskets, including a hand-decorated miniature tree. All proceeds will go towards the continued upkeep of this historic home.
The child activity is $10 per child and by reservation only; to access the reservation link, visit Instagram: @onderdonkhousemanhasset or OnderdonkLandmarkSociety.org. All visitors are invited to tour the House; a suggested donation of $5 is requested.
Please understand that, in keeping with advised Covid protocols, anyone entering the House will be required to wear a mask. We look forward to greeting you at this year’s Holiday and History Celebration!
