NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing of the qualified voters of the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Union Free School District, Towns of Hempstead and North Hempstead, Nassau County, New York, will be held at Manor Oaks-William R. Bowie School, 1950 Hillside Avenue, New Hyde Park, New York on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 8:00 p.m. for the presentation of the budget, although the budget will not be voted upon at that time.
AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the Annual Meeting and Election will be held at Michael J. Tully Park, 1801 Evergreen Avenue, New Hyde Park on Tuesday May 18, 2021 between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., at which time all persons who are qualified to vote and who have registered, as provided for in this notice, may vote on the budget expenditures set forth herein and for the election of members of the Board of Education of the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Union Free School District and the Hillside Public Library Board of Trustees.
AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required for the ensuing year for school and library purposes, exclusive of public monies, may be obtained on the Districtís website and by any resident in the District during the fourteen (14) days immediately preceding the Annual Meeting and Election, except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, at each of the following school houses and library, during regular school and library hours respectively:

NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that Section 495 of the Real Property Tax Law requires the District to attach to its proposed budget an exemption report. Said exemption report, which will also become part of the final budget, will show how the total assessed value of the final assessment roll used in the budgetary process is exempt from taxation, list every type of exemption granted by statutory authority, and show the cumulative impact of each type of exemption, the cumulative amount expected to be received as payments in lieu of taxes (PILOT) and the cumulative impact of all exemptions granted. In addition, the exemption report will be posted on any bulletin board maintained by the District for public notices and on the Districtís website.
AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the petitions nominating candidates for the offices of member of the Board of Education and member of the Hillside Public Library of Trustees must be filed with the Clerk of the District in the Superintendentís Office at the Manor Oaks- William R. Bowie School, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on school days, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 19, 2021.
The following vacancies are to be filled on the Board of Education:
For a term of three (3) years, commencing July 1, 2021 and ending June 30, 2024

The following vacancy is to be filled on the Hillside Public Library Board of Trustees:
For a term of five (5) years commencing July 1, 2021 and ending June 30, 2026
Richard Bursig (last incumbent)
Each vacancy is a separate specific office and a separate petition is required to nominate a candidate to each separate office. Each petition must be directed to the Clerk of the District, must be signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the District, must state the name and residence of each signer, the name and residence of the candidate and describe the specific vacancy for which the candidate is nominated, including at least the length of the term of office and the name of the last incumbent.
For the convenience of the inhabitants of the District, the Board of Education and the Hillside Public Library are providing nominating petition forms for candidates, which are available in the Superintendentís Office at the Manor Oaks-William R. Bowie School, 1950 Hillside Avenue, New Hyde Park, on school days between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The nominating forms are also available on the District website. These forms are for convenience only and need not be used, and any forms which comply with the Education Law will be acceptable.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that the following propositions will be presented and voted upon at the Annual Meeting and Election to be held as provided above on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
PROPOSITION NO. 1
NEW HYDE PARK – GARDEN CITY PARK UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT
BUDGET
ìRESOLVED, that the annual budget as proposed by the Board of Education of the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Union Free School District, in the sum set forth in the budget estimate heretofore filed pursuant to law, for the maintenance and upkeep of the schools and personnel of the District for the year July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022 be accepted, and that the necessary tax be levied therefor. Adoption of the budget requires a tax levy increase which does not exceed the statutory tax increase limit for this school fiscal year and therefore does not exceed the state tax cap.î
PROPOSITION NO. 2
NEW HYDE PARK-GARDEN CITY PARK UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT
CAPITAL RESERVE C
ìRESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Union Free School District in the County of Nassau, New York, be authorized and directed to establish, pursuant to Education Law 3651, Capital Reserve Fund C for the purpose of purchasing school vehicles, facility construction, capital improvements and repaying outstanding debt related to the capital projects, for a maximum of fifteen years. The Capital Reserve Fund shall be funded by unexpended appropriations and/or excess revenue in any given school year. The total amount of the Capital Reserve Fund shall not exceed ten million dollars ($10,000,000).

NEW HYDE PARK-GARDEN CITY PARK UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT
STUDENT TRANSPORTATION GUIDELINES
“RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Union Free School District is hereby authorized to increase the current transportation limits for students in K-Grade 6 from 1 Mile to equal to or greater than 1.5 Miles. The anticipated savings to the District by increasing the above limits is approximately $173,000.”

HILLSIDE PUBLIC LIBRARY
BUDGET
“RESOLVED, that the annual budget as proposed by the Board of Trustees of the Hillside Public Library in the sum set forth in the budget estimate heretofore filed pursuant to law, for the maintenance and upkeep of the library and personnel of said library for the year July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022 be accepted, and that the necessary tax be levied therefor.”
PROPOSITION NO. 5
SEWANHAKA CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
BUDGET
ìRESOLVED, that the proposed budget of expenditures of Sewanhaka Central High School District of Elmont, Floral Park, Franklin Square and New Hyde Park in the County of Nassau, New York for the year 2021-2022 and for the purpose shown in the statement of estimated expenditures adopted by the Board of Education, be and the same hereby is approved and the amount thereof shall be raised by a levy of a tax upon the taxable property within said Sewanhaka Central High School District, after first deducting the monies available from state aid and other sources as provided by law.î
PROPOSITION NO. 6
SEWANHAKA CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
2021 CAPITIAL RESERVE
SHALL the Board of Education of the Sewanhaka Central High School District, pursuant to Education Law Section 3651, be authorized to establish a Capital Reserve Fund known as the ì2021 Capital Reserve Fundî (the ìFundî) which shall be for the purpose of paying all or a portion of the costs of the following: performing capital improvements at the Districtís buildings, facilities, and athletic facilities and fields, including masonry renovation, plumbing upgrades, electrical upgrades, mechanical upgrades (including heating, ventilation and air conditioning), replacement of underground storage tanks, security upgrades, technology upgrades, telephone upgrades, roof replacements, door replacements, window replacements and glazing, site work, classroom and corridor renovations, furnishings and equipment, purchase of district vehicles, all of the foregoing to include all labor, materials, equipment, apparatus and incidental costs related thereto.
The ultimate principal amount of the Fund shall be $10,000,000.00, plus accrued interest and investment earnings thereon. The probable term is to be ten (10) years; the source of the funding to be surplus monies or unexpended unassigned fund balances in the general fund at the end of the current and future fiscal years and/or other legally available reserve funds that may be placed into said Fund, sufficient to fund said ultimate principal amount.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that no person will be allowed to vote on May 18, 2021 unless they have registered for school district voting purposes or for general voting purposes. Personal registration is required.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the Board of Registry will meet at the Manor Oaks-William R. Bowie School on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to prepare the Register, and any person will be entitled to have his or her name placed upon such Register, provided that at such meeting of the Board of Registry, he or she is known or is proven to the satisfaction of such Board of Registry, to be then or thereafter entitled to vote at the school election for which the Register is prepared.
The Register so prepared will be filed with the Clerk of the District and such Register will be open for inspection by any qualified voter of the District between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday in the Superintendentís Office at the Manor Oaks-William R. Bowie School, on each of the five (5) days prior to and on the day of election, except Saturday and Sunday.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that military voters who are not currently registered may apply to register as a qualified voter of the District by submitting a Military Voter Registration Application to the District Clerk, no later than 5:00p.m. on April 22, 2021. A copy of the Military Voter Registration Application is available both in the office of the District Clerk and online located at the Districtís website at www.nhp-gcp.org. Military voters who are qualified voters of the District may submit an application for a military ballot. A military voter is entitled to designate a preference to receive a military voter registration, military ballot application or military ballot by mail, facsimile or electronic mail. Such designation will remain in effect until revoked or changed by the voter. If no preference is designated, the District will transmit the military voter registration by mail. Military ballots will not be canvassed unless they are received by the District Clerk on or before 5:00 p.m. on May 18, 2021.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that applications for absentee ballots may be obtained in the Superintendentís Office at the Manor Oaks-William R. Bowie School, 1950 Hillside Avenue, on school days, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The applications are also available on the District website. Such application must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. No absentee ballot will be canvassed unless it is received by no later than 5:00 p.m. on the day of the election. No absentee ballot application will be accepted more than thirty (30) days prior to the election.
A list of all persons who are issued absentee ballots will be on file with the District Clerk and open for inspection by any qualified voter of the District between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday in the Superintendentís Office at the Manor Oaks-William R. Bowie School, on each of the five (5) days prior to the day of election, except Saturday and Sunday.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that voting on May 18, 2021 will be by the DC Scanner and Tabulator and there will be one Automark Ballot Marking Device available for any voters needing assistance.
