On July 26, a small group of students hailing from Hamyang, South Korea, visited Herricks Middle School as part of the KISS Vision Program.
Sponsored by KISS, a global beauty product company, this initiative was developed as a way to broaden opportunities for students from KISS President and CEO John Chang’s hometown.
The 10-day exchange program aimed to provide them with a new perspective and insight through exposure to the U.S. culture.
The South Korean students began the day with a warm welcome from Superintendent Fino Celano and board of education President Juleigh Chin, and then were joined by Herricks students for various activities coordinated and led by Herricks High School Principal Joan Keegan and Director of World Languages Francesco Fratto.
The day culminated with the South Korean students giving presentations about their home country and then sharing a traditional Korean meal. The Vision Program participants departed Herricks Middle School and headed to Broadway before continuing their trip with visits to Washington, D.C., Boston and New Haven, Connecticut.
